Satellite Workshop of Practical Training
  on solid state NMR with very fast MAS
on wednesday Octobre 11th 2017

Introduction

This training will take place on one day, October 11th 2017, the day before the meeting of the Users of the IR-RMN. It will take place at the RMN center of the ISA in Lyon.

The aim is to give the participants some theoretical and practical knowledge for the use of new probes under very rapid rotation (> 100 kHz) at the magic angle, as well as an overview of possible applications in the field of structural biology and materials sciences so that they can integrate this new experimental approach into their research activity. This approach brings considerable gains in resolution and sensitivity, and applications for the analysis of biomolecules and paramagnetic substances have been developing rapidly in recent years.

Program :

Reports :

  • General introduction to ultra-fast rotation (>100 kHz)
  • Applications to bio-molecular NMR and material sciences
  • Practical aspects (filling of the rotors, rotation, temperature control …)

TP1 – bio-molecular NMR for solid state NMR. Spectral recording and optimization (resonance allocation, distance measurements, dynamic parameters).

TP2 – bio-molecular NMR for liquid state NMR. Rotor filling, spectral recording and optimization (2D correlation, resonance allocation).

TP3 - Organic compounds and paramagnetic solids. Spectral recording and optimization (adiabatic echoes, multidimensional correlations).

Cost: free of charge (course and lunch provided by the IR-NMR, accommodation and transportation at the participant's expense)
